Kansas Private Investigator Licensing Requirements

Private detectives in Kansas are licensed by the Kansas Bureau of Investigations. An applicant must be 21-years or older, be a U.S. citizen, have a high school diploma or equivalent, have no felony convictions, and have no misdemeanor convictions within the past 10-years.

A private detective applicant in Kansas must also undergo a criminal background check, and pass a written examination.
