Louisiana Private Investigator Licensing Requirements

To obtain a PI license in Louisiana, applicants must be at least 18-years old, be a United States citizen or a legal resident, be mentally competent, and have no felony convictions or convictions of moral turpitude. Applicants must also have three years investigative experience, complete a Board approved 40-hour PI prep course, and pass an exam.
