Michigan Private Investigator Licensing Requirements
To be eligible for a PI license in Michigan, a person must be 25-years or older, have a high school diploma or equivalent, submit fingerprints, and have no felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions of moral turpitude.
PI licensing candidates in Michigan must also have at least three years of experience as one of the following: a professional investigator in another state; an investigator, special agent or similar in a government service; or a bachelors degree in criminal justice, police administration, security management, or computer forensics.
